Bank History

BTC BANK is a full service community owned bank that offers professional, efficient and confidential attentiveness with a personal touch. Our employees, officers, and directors have devoted countless hours in positions of our community from local churches to school board members to coaching summer ball. Our bank continues its proud tradition of public service and dedication.

Bethany Trust Company originally was chartered September 19, 1919 with a capital stock of $100,000 that was divided into 1,000 shares with a par value of $100. J.E. Noll, S. L. Gibson, W. T. Templeman, Joseph S. Neff, Henry N. Burgin, W. C. Cole, and I. E. Nelson were the first to serve on our Board of Directors. The bank has been at its present location during its entire history. The present building was constructed at the site in 1966. In 1949, the Bank's 30th anniversary, our total assets were $2,358,921. In June 1969, our 50th anniversary, our total assets were $9,674,346. In March of 1998 Bethany Trust Company purchased Bank of Gallatin/First State Bank and its branch facility in New Hampton. The Bethany Trust Company celebrated its 80th anniversary and changed its name to BTC BANK in September, 1999. Our assets totaled $110,539,000. BTC BANK also announced the decision to build a new facility in Albany. In February 2003 BTC BANK purchased First Bank of Missouri's facility in Pattonsburg. August 1, 2005, we opened our doors to a new branch in Bethany across from Country Kitchen. We opened a branch in Chillicothe March 1, 2007. We have total assets of $175,833 for the first quarter of 2007.

We proudly boast that we have continually had serving on our Board of Directors a member of the same family for four generations: W. C. Cole first generation, M.C. Cole, second generation, E. V. Osborn, third generation and fourth generation and current board member Cole Osborn.

BTC BANK'S promise to stay independently owned and locally operated has sustained the economic growth due to the continued customer loyalty and the people-helping-people personal banking services. We safeguard the assets of our customers by creating a strong financial base through sound loans, investments and quality service. "Your" money you deposit with our Bank is reinvested in the communities we serve and provides many opportunities for our people. Being a local bank means that our customers can get loans approved quickly by local bankers and can have their problems solved without delay.

BTC BANK is your home-town community bank with great pride. We are proud to provide you with friendly, quality, professional service. See BTC BANK for all your banking needs.
